Compatible with what you run
Most operators run a mixed fleet. Monta is built for that.
Continuous testing with major manufacturers
We test every new feature across major hardware models throughout the release cycle, not just when something breaks.
Re-testing every firmware release
We re-verify all OCPP and Monta features before each release, so updates are safe to roll out.
A physical lab in Copenhagen
Our lab holds 100+ AC model samples and a DC charger for hands-on, on-site testing.
A published OCPP Toolkit and Emulator
We publish an OCPP Toolkit and Emulator that manufacturers across the industry rely on.
A Hardware Track for partner manufacturers
Partner manufacturers get real-time charging data and direct feedback loops on every new feature.
Find your hardware on the supported list
Add any hardware, supported or not
Buy from the supported list for the fastest start
For new hardware purchases, start with our supported list. These models are already integrated and tested on Monta, and our support and hardware teams have in-field knowledge of them, so you get the smoothest experience and the fastest onboarding. We also publish integration guides for top brands and models.

Bring hardware that isn't listed, we'll integrate it
If you bring hardware that isn’t on the list, whether you’re migrating to Monta, acquiring another network, or running a model we don’t support yet, we’ll integrate it as part of your work with us. Send us the make and model, and we’ll reach out to the manufacturer, run an integration test, and confirm OCPP compatibility. Once certified, it’s available to every operator on Monta.

Integration that made acquisitions possible
Norlys wasn’t held back from completing network acquisitions by hardware compatibility.
“Some of the acquisitions wouldn’t have been possible if we’d built our own platform. Some of the hardware types that we acquired with the companies were not supported on Monta at the time, so that capability needed to be built. And you guys helped with that.”

Equipped to handle what breaks
Most hardware issues can be diagnosed from the OCPP logs. Monta gives your team direct access, Monta AI to understand technical details, plus support and manufacturer escalation when you need it.

Full OCPP log access
Access full OCPP logs for any charging station on your network, and debug live sessions yourself whenever you want.

Monta AI
Ask questions across your network in plain language and get answers without a support ticket. Monta AI reads manufacturer-specific documentation, like error codes.

Workflows
Automate the upkeep for hardware that needs hand-holding to stay reliable, like scheduling reboots for the charging stations that need them.

Support
Monta experts investigate the tickets you raise and can tell whether an issue is a software bug on our end or rooted in the hardware.

L3 technical specialists
Specialists take on what goes beyond first-line, with the deep technical experience to resolve issues general support can’t.

Hardware team
Monta’s integration engineers know the top hardware models inside out and have direct relationships with their counterparts in manufacturer engineering teams.
FAQs
What hardware does Monta recommend?
At Monta, we love all our hardware brands equally and are hardware agnostic. See what’s supported on our supported charging stations page. Here we transparently allow you to sort by supported features, performance, charge success, or uptime so anyone can see what models are currently performing best.
Does Monta have formal relationships with hardware manufacturers?
Yes, with select manufacturers. Monta’s Hardware Track gives partners real-time visibility and operational data on their charging stations in the field. Manufacturers interested in this track can contact our sales team.
What OCPP versions does Monta support?
Monta supports OCPP 1.6J and OCPP 2.0.1, plus OCPI for roaming.
What if my hardware isn't on the supported list?
We always recommend starting with our supported list for the fastest, most reliable experience. When an operator brings existing hardware that isn’t supported (migrations, acquisitions), we’ll integrate it as part of your work with Monta.
Can I migrate from another CPMS without changing my hardware?
Yes. If your charging stations are on the supported list and support OCPP, the migration is a software switch. If something isn’t supported yet, we integrate it as part of the migration.
Does Monta have integration guides?
Yes, we’ve published integration guides here for top hardware brands and models.
Are there charging stations that cannot run on Monta?
A small number of closed-ecosystem legacy players choose to lock their hardware to their own software, or don’t speak OCPP at all. See what brands we integrate with on the supported charging stations page.
What extensions to OCPP 1.6 does Monta support?
For OCPP 1.6, sometimes the base specification is not sufficient. To improve functionality and interoperability, Monta has full or partial support for the following extensions to the protocol:
- Improved security for OCPP 1.6-J edition 4
- Using ISO 15118 Plug & Charge with OCPP 1.6 v1.0
- OCPP & California Pricing Requirements v3.1
- Signed Meter Values in OCPP v1.0
These extensions are available as white papers and application notes from the Open Charge Alliance.
How does Monta handle issues with a specific charging station?
Your team can investigate from the OCPP logs directly. If you need help, raise a ticket and Monta support investigates with the same logs plus Monta-wide visibility. Hardware-rooted issues get escalated to the manufacturer by our hardware experts that have direct relationships with them.
