This guide explains the Operator organization structures in Monta, describing the access levels and information shared between accounts.
Every organization that enters a partnership with Monta creates an Operator account, which is the Main operator of the organization. If the organization is running a big operation with multiple locations, different types of customers, and other complexities, it can create Sub-operators.
An organization will always have only one Main operator, but can have multiple/as many Sub-operators, as they need.
Main operator
The Main operator is the Operator account, which manages the entire organization. The Main operator consolidates everything that’s happening in the Sub-operators and functions as the overall control center for the organization.
Sub-operator
A Sub-operator is an Operator account in the same organization. In the list of accounts, Sub-operators show which organization they belong to.
Managing access
Main operator access
- Only Operator users in the Main operator can access the Main operator.
- The Main operator has access to all of the Sub-operators’ Teams, charge points, Charging sites, Installer jobs, Reports and Dashboards.
- Main operator Operator users have the same access rights in the Sub-operators. For example, a Supporter in the Main operator will also be a Supporter in the Sub-operators
- You should give the main operator access only to users who should have free access to all Sub-operators.
Sub-operator access
- Sub-operators can only access their own Teams, charge points, Charging sites, etc.
- Sub-operators can see and apply Plans and Themes created by the Main operator (but cannot edit them).
How does the Main operator access Sub-operator data?
The Main operator can directly access specific Sub-operator data, without switching accounts. This is available in the new Monta Hub, which is now the default — it isn’t available in the classic Hub, which remains reachable temporarily from the user menu. Currently, the Main operator can directly access Teams, charge sessions and charge points of Sub-operators.
Main operator access example:
We have an Organization called Onboarding Webinar. This Organization has a Main operator called Onboarding Webinar and a Sub-operator called Monta Guidance.
- When I access Onboarding Webinar (Main operator), I select a collection on the left-side menu.
- In the Teams collection, I can see the Teams from all Operator accounts by default
- I can filter to see only Main operator Teams, only Sub-operator Teams, or both
Sub-operator access example:
- When I access Monta guidance (Sub-operator), I select a collection on the left-side menu
- In the Teams collection, I can only see the Teams that belong to the Monta guidance operator

You will be able to switch between accounts, which you can access.
